Physician Reimbursement for
Certifying and Re-Certifying Patients:
Two Medicare billing codes make it possible to
be paid simply for something you already do- certifying and recertifying home health patient. Just review, sign, and date
the Medicare Home Health Plan of Care orders(form 485). Return the original to the home health agency. For you to receive
payment for this service, instruct your staff to retain a copy of the Plan of Care and bill Medicare using the standard HCFA
1500 form. The information needed to fill this form out is on the Plan of Care.

Americare, we realize physicians can be overwhelmed with the amount of paperwork they have to review and sign. That is why
we have teamed up with SecureCare Technologies, Inc., to offer you an alternative. If requested, we can send you Plans of
Care and additional orders over the internet. SecureCare is HIPPA compliant so you don't have to worry about the security
involving patient information.
Here's how it works:
- Orders are sent to you in an e-mail attachment format.
- Upon review, you have the option
to approve or decline the request.
- If approved, your digital signature is added to the form
and it is sent back to the home health agency. A copy is available for your records.
- If declined,
the form is returned to the agency with the changes you request.
It's that
simple!
